I remember hearing of Diana’s death on the radio. I was driving from Sutton Road Walsall to play golf at Handsworth GC. I was driving past the Garden Gate pub on Hamstead Hill. Everyone was in shock, grown men crying like we had lost a close family member. Such a sad day!
