The Mayor of Walsall, Cllr Rose Martin, continued her Platinum Jubilee celebrations, by hosting members of the Crabtree Society to tea in the Mayor’s Parlour. The former employees of Crabtrees worked at the Lincoln Road site in 1962 when the Queen visited the factory during the first of her three official visits to Walsall. Among the guests today was Doreen Thomas who, as a 15-year old , presented the Queen with a bouquet in 1962. Then known as Doreen Craddock, Doreen was selected to present the bouquet as she was the youngest Crabtree employee at the time.
